6. Sunday August 22 the parish awareness weekend in the gathering hall after all the masses need guys to man the knights table.
7. Need someone to volunteer to help with selling of tickets after masses.

Knights and their wives cooked and sold a variety of authentic Latin foods and drinks.  Food and drink booths were setup in the parking lot between the parish hall and the school buildings.  Just as the event was getting started, rain was headed toward the church.  A game-time decision was made to move everything into the parish hall, kitchen, and Knights Hall.

After the rain ended, the band started playing and members of the crowd danced into the evening.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the event and has asked for it to be done a few times a year.

1. Concession training went well. 18 people showed up. We still need 32 to reach our goal. There are still three sessions left that we can go to. to achieve the goal and reward 5 lucky goers $25.00.. Please help, By the way if you go to the training session that doesn’t mean you are obligated to work concessions.
2. Saturday Nite–Latino Food Festival starts after 5:30 mass. Admission is $1.00 and there will be entertainment and plenty of food. Please support your fellow knights.

1. Would you like a chance at $25 CASH for just a little bit of your time? Centerplate, the concession vendor at the University, wants to have full attendance at their concession training sessions this fall. They want to reward us with $250 if we attend with at least 50 volunteers. We want to pass along part of this reward to some of you. If we qualify for the $250, we’ll distribute $25 to 5 people that attended by random drawing. Our group is scheduled to attend this Saturday, Aug 7 at 10am. If you cannot make that one, you can also attend next Saturday, Aug 14 at 10am or 4pm. If 50 our of people go to their training, we’ll do the drawing at the concession party on Saturday, Aug 21st. You don’t have to attend the party to win, but you do have to attend one of the training sessions. Bring your spouse, bring your children if they’re 16 years of age or older. Even if you don’t normally work a concession, consider going to ensure 5 people are able to take home $25. The training will be in the recruiting room at the stadium. Enter at gate 1 in the north end zone. Reply back with the day and time you plan to attend.

EWTN television will broadcast convention proceedings via its cable and satellite affiliates throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa and the Pacific Rim of Asia. News Director Raymond Arroyo will be onsite Tuesday, Aug. 3, with live coverage of the opening Mass, the Supreme Knight’s annual report, and the States Dinner, as well as interviews and updates on convention activities.

EWTN Radio will also broadcast live from the convention site and provide live audio of the opening Mass and business session. EWTN is carried on many independent Catholic radio stations around the United States, as well as via streaming audio on the Internet.

Canada’s Salt & Light TV will cover the convention events live to its audience of over two million people in Canada alone, and tens of thousands of people the world over viewing the live streaming on the Salt and Light website, providing English and French-language reports by Basilian Father Thomas Rosica and a team of correspondents. S&L will cover all three days of this year’s Supreme Convention

Boston-based CatholicTV returns for its third year of broadcast coverage to its national audience. News anchor Kevin Nelson will provide live reports, activities and interviews from the convention site throughout the opening day’s events. Catholic TV is now available on selected cable systems around the United States.

SirusXM Satellite Radio’s Catholic Channel will once again broadcast live from the convention, carrying The Busted Halo Show with Paulist Father Dave Dwyer on Monday, Aug. 2 and Tuesday, August 3 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. EDT. New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York will also originate his weekly program, A Conversation with the Archbishop, from the convention site.

4. Thanks to all who helped with the Pro Life Walkers this past week. The dinner and breakfast were well appreciated.

By around 7:00am this morning, the team had walked to Woodstock.  They returned to  Holy Spirit in their RV and minivan for Daily Mass and morning prayers in our chapel.  By including a priest on each of Crossroads’ teams, the team members are able to include Mass in their daily routine.  The group was served breakfast in the Knights Hall prior to loading back into their vehicles and returned to Woodstock.  The walkers would resume walking East from Woodstock where they had left off.

Although the team’s visit was brief, the meals and fellowship were the least we could do to support and show our appreciation for their efforts.  Please keep Allison, Anthony, Becca, Erica, Fr. Hillary, Leah, Patricia, Rebecca, Tim, Sean, Will and all of the Crossroads walkers in your prayers as they continue to walk for life.
