Faithful Navigator Report

From Steve Griffin, FN:

Sir Knights of Assembly 2527:

We are about to complete another Fraternal Year for our Tuscaloosa Assembly and this year marks the end of my two year term as your Faithful Navigator.

I want to take a moment to congratulate you all for your support of and participation in this Fourth Degree Assembly which has become such a big part of the Tuscaloosa Community….especially for our Nation’s Veterans who are assigned to the local VA Medical Center. Not only were we recognized for extraordinary contributions to that group over the last two years, but it is important to note that our Assembly has become a regular member of the VA Family and know that we are included in nearly every facet of life for Veterans at the VA.

Whether it is providing toiletries, reading material, or Funds…. our Assembly has taken a leadership Role in supporting our Wounded Warriors. We have been recognized for our generosity by the Director of the VAMC in Tuscaloosa, Agencies in Washington D.C. and in Veterans Publications. Assembly 2527 was afforded the honor of participating in the Memorial Day Celebration at the televised Tribute to Veterans at the VA Medical Center and has been awarded Flags that flew over Theaters of Conflict; Plaques of Appreciation and most recently, an Award for our involvement in Spiritual Support (a tribute to our Wednesday Scripture Rosary that is attended so faithfully by many and led by Maggi Gray and Ray Rumanek each week).

There is much for us to be thankful for as a group of Fraternal Catholics, and because of our Active Approach to Veterans Support, we have nearly doubled in size and now boost nearly 80 Sir Knights in our Assembly. Activities are at an all time high and we have been part of helping the State of Alabama and the entire Bienville Province reach new heights in Programs and Membership and have been recognized for our contributions to those accomplishments.

We have much to be thankful for and we have one last time to gather together under this Administration to give thanks and reminisce over our accomplishments. We also have one more chance to wish our new Officers good fortune as they prepare to take over July 1.

That opportunity comes this Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Awards Banquet in Tuscaloosa and I Urge Each of you and your “significant others” to come and join us in this final good-bye and to usher in the new Officers that will continue to guide us on our journey to support Patriotism.

If you have not already done so, please R.S.V.P. to the council invitation or just drop me an email confirming that you will be joining me and the other Sir Knights at this Joyous occasion where we will give thanks for the opportunity to support our Country, and our Church as we continue our work to preserve our way of life.
